MONETARY UNIT OF THE RUSSIAN SOVIET FEDERATIVE SOCIALIST REPUBLIC, 1919-1921

In this turbulent period following its October Revolution, the newly formed Russian Soviet Federative Socialist Republic faced a grave economic crisis. Towards 1919, rapid price increases had devastated the previous currency, rendering it practically worthless. To address this pressing issue, the
